As House Manager and Personal Assistant to an American lady who had the misfortune to experience a house fire in her substantial home, we were introduced to K Pak Ltd. as preferred carriers to the company commissioned to undertake the restoration of the furniture and works of art damaged by the fire within the house.

The appropriate care was taken under the filthy conditions of a property drenched by water and filthy with soot, to try to collect together all the pieces of these works of art, some charred out of all recognition and others in a state of extreme fragility. The whole household was impressed by the diligence, friendliness, punctuality and long working hours undertaken by the whole team.

At a later stage when it was decided to move the household back to the USA, it was no surprise that we asked for a quotation from K Pak to undertake this. Their quotation was the lower of two and so we proceeded to pack and fill three forty foot containers. This entailed a great deal of cross referencing with inventories and insurance schedules.

All was received in USA safely by members of the same team that packed it all, following processing of export permits, where required, and clearance through US customs. We all could not have been happier and K Pak have helped us since clearing the contents of a London apartment back to USA, followed by arranging various other shipments for which we happily continue to use K Pak. Now our preferred carriers both nationally and internationally.

I have just returned to London, after spending a few days at Firle Place for the re-installation of the collection this week. On behalf of the Firle Estate Trustees, may I express our sincere appreciation to James Fielden and his team, for their truly splendid efforts returning the larger paintings which have been out on loan to Firle, and superb efficiency re-hanging the pictures through the house. As a team, they are highly professional, careful and thoughtful - and nothing was too much trouble. It was an enormous pleasure working with them, always cheerful and positive, and we felt vastly reassured knowing that many of our treasured paintings were in such capable hands.

I had a rushed shipment to be sent FEDEX to Washington DC to arrive for Wednesday – to be frank, I had my doubts it was possible. Well, Sian and Louiza came up trumps and pulled it off, they are both fantastic.
